On 27 March, the Center for Language and Literacy Education welcomed Professor Fang Huang from Shanghai International Studies University. During her visit, Prof. Huang met with Prof. Shulin YU, Assistant Dean (Student Affairs) and Director of CLLE, Prof. Yang GONG, Programme Coordinator of Bachelor of Education Programme (Chinese), Prof. Zhaowei KONG, Director of Center for Arts and Physical Education, Subject Convenor of Master of Philosophy in Education (Education and Sport Studies) and doctoral students at CLLE, and joined a warm and engaging exchange at the Center.
Prof. Huang holds a doctorate in education and is a professor, doctoral supervisor, and Associate Dean of the School of Education at Shanghai International Studies University. Her research interests include technology acceptance, intercultural foreign language education, and foreign language teacher professional development. She has published extensively in leading SSCI journals, including Computers & Education, Computer Assisted Language Learning, Educational Technology Research and Development, Interactive Learning Environments, and British Journal of Educational Technology. She has also led and participated in a number of research projects, including National Social Science Fund projects and provincial- and ministerial-level humanities and social science projects.
At CLLE, Prof. Huang engaged in in-depth discussions with the Director of CLLE and faculty members on current developments in language education research. They also exchanged views on possible directions for future collaboration in research, academic exchange, and postgraduate education.
As an alumna of the Faculty of Education at the University of Macau, Prof. Huang’s visit was especially meaningful. In her conversation with CLLE doctoral students, she generously shared her experiences of doctoral study and provided valuable insights into career pathways and employment opportunities, encouraging students to enjoy PhD life and prepare strategically for both academic and professional futures.
The visit created a valuable opportunity for intellectual exchange and professional dialogue, and further strengthened the connection between CLLE and its alumni community.
